Luna - ADOPTED

Look at this beauty! Luna is looking for love! Sadly, she didn't always know what love was as she was surrendered by her owner to the Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston. Unfortunately "owner surrendered" dogs are in the worst kind of jeopardy at the shelter as they are often put to sleep first just due to lack of space. Thankfully she was pulled just in time. She was taken to the vet for x-rays and it was determined that she has hip dysplasia. The vet assumed that the previous owner allowed her leg muscles to atrophy a bit. The vet feels that continuing to strengthen her muscles will help her a great deal. She is also taking joint supplements. She has an appointment scheduled at the UW Vet to get the best options for future care and next steps. Luna is loving the Wisconsin life! Cold weather has nothing on this girl. She adores being outside romping around with her shaggy medium-sized foster sister who is a terrier mix. Luna is a polite and loving pony who walks like a runway model. She knows how to sit and shake and is eager to learn more. She is completely house trained and sleeps on an orthopedic dog bed inside a large kennel at night. Her foster family leaves the door to the kennel open at night, but she is a sound sleeper who doesn’t stir until her foster mom wakes up in the morning. Luna enjoys walks around the block to strengthen her hind leg muscles. She is a great eater and loves the added puréed pumpkin to her kibble to assist in healthy weight gain. She is a joy to her foster family that includes kids ranging in age from 9-18 years of age. She is gaining confidence daily and her personality keeps getting brighter with each passing day.
