Meet Snoopy!

Snoopy is approximately 2 1/2 years old and weighs seventy-four pounds. Our best guess is that he is a German shepherd possibly mixed with Alaskan Malamute. He is a happy, friendly boy, who is so sweet! He seems to really love children. Upon meeting them, he went into his play bow, and then rolled over on his back so they could pat his tummy. This handsome boy is already in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and needs to find a forever home.

Meet Rolo!

Rolo is a Labrador Retriever mix who is already neutered, house trained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Meet Rolo! This enthusiastic fellow is over one year old and is good with dogs. He loves children and will be an excellent dog for any family. He is also eager to learn and very receptive to training. He is a last minute addition to our January 3rd transport so will be arriving in Wisconsin this weekend.

Goals for 2016

1.  Adopt/Foster

Looking to add a dog to your family? Then please consider adopting! We work with rescues in Texas, along with local individuals and organizations, to help all dogs find their forever home. If you're not able to permanently add a new member to your family, how about fostering? Since Paddy's Paws is a foster-based organization, we are always looking for families who can foster dogs for varying periods of times whether it be for one day to a couple of months. Believe us when we say your life will forever be changed by one of these grateful rescue dogs.

2.  Volunteer

There are numerous ways to volunteer your time and/or talents with Paddy's Paws.  We are in need of volunteers to do home visits with potential adopters. Home visit volunteers will contact the applicants via email in order to set up the home visit. They also will make two reference calls. The home visit provides great insight into the life an animal will have with this applicant. Home visits can be set up based on what is conveient for your schedule and you can do as many or as few as you would like. We are in need of home visit volunteers in all areas of Wisconsin.

Another way to volunteer is to host a fundraiser or a collection drive to help us gather donations or resources for the rescue dogs.  You could also volunteer your time helping at one of our fundraiser events. If you have an idea for a fundraiser, we would love to hear it.

3.  Donate

Paddy's Paws is always looking for ways to raise much needed funds to cover our vet costs and transport fees. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization so donations can be tax-deductible. We are currently accepting monetary donations via checks or cash. We hope to soon have a way for people to donate online too. Those interested in donating can email Kari at paddyspawsdonations@gmail.com

We also accept donations like food, toys, bedding, leashes, collars, crates, or cleaning supplies. We also are in need of monthly preventatives for flea/tick or heartworm for the dogs in foster care. Or perhaps you are a crafty person and can make homemade toys, bedding, or even "Adopt Me" vests and bandannas.

4. Educate

Please share with your families and friends the importance of adopting a dog versus buying from a pet shop or breeder. There are millions of homeless animals who are in need of a good home, so there is no need to go to other sources for a pet. Educate others about the importance of spaying/neutering your pets so that there are no accidental litters, thus adding to the overpopulation problem. Teach a child what it means to be kind and respectful to animals. Show children what it means to be a responsible pet owner. Share our pet profiles of adoptive dogs with your family and friends and help spread the word about the importance of adopting a rescue dog.

Meet Lyndsay

Lyndsay and her pups were dropped off at a high kill shelter by an individual who told the shelter he found them. Lyndsay is about 18 months old and appears to be a Carolina dog mix. She is housebroken, very sweet, and loves kids. Her foster mom calls her sweet and affectionate and enjoys tug of war, and laps. She does seem to have a bit more of an alpha dog personality, so she would do best with a more submissive dog, or as an only dog. Lyndsay would do great in a home in the country or in an apartment. Lyndsay has not yet been cat tested, but can be upon request.  She will be traveling to Wisconsin on January 3rd.

Meet Diamond!

This great looking fella with his cute pink nose is looking for his special someone. Saved from a high kill shelter, Diamond is nothing but pure love. Diamond is about a year old and weighs 50lbs. He still has some puppy energy, but will be an excellent dog for any family. He is also eager to learn and very receptive to training. Diamond will be traveling to Wisconsin on January 3rd.

After he was saved, he spent two months living with a very nice foster family in Houston who had two young children, a cat and a lab. They all got along well. Meet Tripod!

Tripod is a very special 10 month old American Bulldog (mini version weighing in at only 30lbs). While he is a special needs dog due to his missing foot, he does not let this slow him down one bit! He is a very healthy and active puppy who is doing very well learning sit and basic commands. Tripod is very smart and wants to learn and will be great with a family who has older children to play with! He LOVES kids! Won't you make Tripod a part of your family?

He would love to come to Wisconsin on January 3rd, but needs you to fill out an adoption application first.

Meet Phoebe!

Phoebe is a Schipperke/Chihuahua Mix who is already spayed, house trained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Phoebe is a complete sweetheart!! She is crate trained and house trained and using a dog door. She is a bit of a talker when she is happy and excited and an overall great lap loving, cuddling, dog! She is great with other dogs and smiles when she is happy. Because of her size, Phoebe would do better with older children.

Phoebe has the opportunity to travel to Wisconsin on January 3rd and would love for you to fill out an application!

Meet Lacey Lou!

This young lady is described as the perfect dog! Lacey Lou is 8 months old and will likely top out at about 55lbs. She is housebroken, crate trained, and does great on a leash. She is an affectionate companion dog and loves everyone. She will be cat tested soon, but we don't anticipate any issues based on her amazing personality. Lacey Lou has the opportunity to travel to Wisconsin on January 3rd.

Now she just needs you to fill out an application to get the process started.

Meet Elaine!

Elaine is a toy fox terrier mix who is already spayed, house trained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

As I walked through aisles of the shelter, I was struck by a tiny ball of fear crouched in the corner of a kennel on a cold, wet cement floor next to a grate. She looked up at me and when she saw my eyes meet hers. She quickly turned away as if she was ashamed to bother me. I stood and starred at her, all the while the two roommates she shared the kennel with were jumping and competing for my attention. But this little girl's tiny little presence, as much as she so desperately just wanted to disappear, was drawing me. It was discovered that she was turned into the shelter days earlier and her time to be noticed and adopted had expired. This was her day...her time was up. The previous owner didn't even have a name for her. Lola's Lucky Day saw this story needed a different ending.
After several days of being unsure of her surroundings, her little face lit up and she was so happy to be alive!! I cried and she licked the tears from my face. It was like finally she just knew now how wonderful she really is. Today she lives with my pack of 9 other dog and a spoiled rotten cat She is timid initially, but if you give her space she will welcome you to love on her. She enjoys being outside in the sun and coming into lay on her special warm and soft bed on the corner of the couch. She is an amazing tiny angel and will be an awesome addition to a calm home or a home with older children. She has the option to travel to Wisconsin on January 3rd but needs to have an approved adopter waiting to meet her.

Meet Blackie!

Blackie is two years old and stands proud at 55lbs with a shiny, soft, black coat. In the beginning, he was underweight, exhausted, and slowly losing hope living on the mean Houston streets. However, since being rescued, he has quickly adjusted and loves knowing what a spoiled dog life is all about.
He loves to run and play in the yard with his foster siblings as well as lay and relax on the living room floor. He’s very easy going so if you want to binge on Netflix for the whole day, he’s right there with you. If you want to take a walk or throw a Kong around the yard, he’s down for that too. Blackie is great on leash, 100% housebroken and kennel trained! Overall, he is a very well behaved boy! Once Blackie knows you, he’s very affectionate and loving. He likes adults as well as children!
Blackie seems to adore the female dogs and is fine with small males. His best friend is a 20lb Min Pin, and they play tug a war daily! Blackie also loves puppies. Anytime his foster has puppies, he tends to them as if they were his own. However, male dogs his size or larger tend to scare him and are not a suitable fit for him. Blackie can also jump a 4' fence, so he will need to be kept on a lead when outside for potty breaks and walks.
Blackie has a lot of love to offer and he’s ready to have a family of his own. He has the option to travel to Wisconsin on January 3rd but needs to have an approved adopter waiting to meet him.
